Kia Motors was founded in 1944. It was the first motor vehicle company to be founded in South Korea. They now own 13 manufacturing plants based in eight different countries which produce more than a million vehicles per year.
One of the lucky countries proud enough to have a Kia manufacturing plant is, in fact, the United States of America. It is located in the beautiful West Point. It is called the Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia and has been up and running since 2009. Currently they produce the Sorento and the Optima. A manufacturing plant is not the only thing that the United States has to offer Kia, however. For the past fourteen years, Kia Motors America has recorded increased United States market share on a year to year basis. They also sponsor many American based companies, organizations, and residents such as, but not limited to, the National Basketball Association, the Women’s National Basketball Association, Atlanta Falcons, Blake Griffin, and X-Men. They also have manufacturing plants throughout Europe and in Mexico through which they are very involved. Lastly, they have a Defense program as well.
It goes without saying that Kia remains involved in the countries with which they do business and it is obvious that that business mentality is taking them far. Kia is thriving in the American auto-industry simply because they care (and create reliable, efficient and safe vehicles as well).

Kia has gone above and beyond this year to bring you the best of the best in vehicular technology. The brand new 2015 Kia Sorento has been loaded with so many amazing features that will have you picking your jaw up off of the floor. Have a seat, take a load off your feet, get comfortable and enjoy the ride because with this up to date Kia model, you’re in for the ride of your life. There is standard leather seating available for every version as well as door handles that illuminate for visibility purposes.
Also available for the brand new model is a 3.3 Liter V-6 engine that puts off a whopping 290 horse power. For a car of this size, that is quite a lot of power to ensure you the best ride. But what is all this power worth without proper safety precautions? Thankfully, Kia is has stepped up their game yet again! With amazing safety precautions such as dual front seat mounted side air bags, front active headrests, 4-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking system and a traction control system, your passengers will be the safest on the road.
Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability control (ESC), side-impact door beams, rear child-safety door locks, and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) are just a few more of the many, many safe features of this ideal family vehicle. Luxury and safety all in one sounds like the perfect vehicle to me.

Kia Introduces the Mud Bogger
At SEMA Kia introduced its Forte that they have turned into the Mud Bogger. This is cool incarnate. Check out this pic.
This really takes you back to the Dune Buggy’s that were so popular in the 70s and 80s. Heck, it reminds me of the TV show I used to watch back in the 70’s called Wonder bug. When a car company can take you back to fond childhood memories, they are striking the right nerve.
It’s all about the tire when it comes to running mud, and the Mud Bogger’s 28-inch off-road rubber certainly looks capable of slinging some serious sludge. Mounted on bright-white wheels, the look is equal parts agricultural and industrial, with a smidge of commercial ATV thrown in for good measure. Clearing the combo required a four-inch body and suspension lift and trimming the fenders; massive fender flares are riveted in place in an effort to keep the spray somewhat contained. A white tubular front bumper matches the wheels.
To prepare the interior for action, the carpet was removed and the entire floor covered in Line-X protective coating, a roll cage (powder-coated to match the wheels, natch) was installed, and a set of Sparco Evo II racing seats were bolted on in place of the stock units. A vinyl pushback top was fitted to ensure no passengers return to base unscathed by the torrent of mud.

Upgrading your Vehicle the Right Way
Every 2 ½ year’s families are looking to upgrade one of their vehicles which sits in their driveway. This could be a car or truck that has high mileage or even a minivan that is in need of some repairs. It may be that sports car or jeep that has lost some of its luster, and with the weather turning favorable; a new ride might just make that commute much more enjoyable.
Whatever your reason is to replace your current vehicle, Huffines KIA located at 5150 S Interstate 35 E in Denton, Texas has a great opportunity for you to upgrade your vehicle the right way.
As you review your current vehicle, know that dealerships are looking for high quality, late models, and pre-owned vehicles. Dealerships want to acquire these cars, trucks, or suv’s to help put other drivers not looking for a new vehicle into these models. The vehicle can be any year, make or model with high or low mileage. As long as the vehicle is in good condition; you will have an opportunity to upgrade and experience tremendous savings for you and your family.
Did you know that a five mile per gallon increase will save an average of $50 per month according to FuelEconomy.gov? In addition to the gas savings you could have by upgrading your vehicle; the cost of maintenance and repairs is on average of $70 per month according to AAA. So as you consider trading in your vehicle, calculate your potential monthly savings by adding your monthly payment savings plus the monthly fuel and repair savings to find out what your estimated total monthly savings will be.
This is how the Vehicle Upgrade Month works at Huffines KIA Denton. With no obligation to you spend 15 to 20 minutes talking to one of our vehicle experts. Preview the new vehicle that you desire. The North Texas Dealership will present you with an offer to buy your vehicle and then with an exchange offer. In addition, the dealership will offer to pay today’s service bill if you exchange into the new vehicle.
Therefore the benefits you will receive are as follows:

2016 Kia Optima
When you know you have a great thing, you can’t wait to show the world. That must have been the logic behind Kia deciding not to wait until the 2015 New York Auto Show to give us a sneak peek behind the curtain and show us the 2016 Kia Optima.
There appears to be subtle changes to the front of the latest offering as the shape of the headlights and other features have been slightly offered. They did keep the bold tiger nose grille which is one of my favorite designs. Along with the vertical fog lights make the front menacing to say the least. They also have LED taillights with an integrated diffuser and a pair of heavy duty oval exhausts to round out the back.
Under the hood, Kia will continue to offer a standard, naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder, as well as an optional 2.0-liter, turbo charged four-cylinder. Power for the engine will be 185 hp and 178 lb-ft, and the 2.0T will be 247 hp and 260 lb.-ft. Both engines have been retuned for fuel economy. The car company will also offer a 1.6 liter turbocharged four cylinder accompanied with the company’s first seven speed dual clutch transmission. This produced 178 hp and 19g lb. ft. of torque. Kia continues to improve upon an already great product. I can’t wait to sit behind the wheel of this one.
For more information on this and all of Kia’s great products, come by today at Huffines KIA Denton 5150 S Interstate 35 E Denton, TX or give us a call at 940-321-2504 today!

What Exactly Do You Call The Kia Sedona?
Kia prefers that you do not call the Sedona a minivan. It does seat up to eight people, has a pair of sliding doors, seats that fold out of the way and a great view of the parking lot. By definition this should qualify right? But according to Kia, and we would have to agree, the Sedona is just way too cool to be called a minivan. Think of it as a “multipurpose vehicle."
The 2015 Kia Sedona can almost pass as a large crossover SUV due to the changes they have made to the already popular vehicle. It definitely leads its market segment in appearance and comfort. Every seat in the Sedona is spacious enough for tall adults. That is not ordinary as I have found getting through to the seats in some competitors cumbersome and very uncomfortable once I got to my destination. It also has a convenient cubby in the floor of the trunk that is quite a useful cavern for your gear.
This offering is definitely hipper and adds more swag to the car owner and its occupants than its more conventional peers. With its 267 horsepower V-6 engine, six speed automatic transmission and front wheel drive, it has plenty of power to get you and your crew where they are going in comfort and ease. The cabin is also very quiet considering all of that power under the hood.

KIA RACING WINS 2014 PIRELLI WORLD CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Kia Becomes First Korean Car Brand to Win Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) Grand Touring Sport (GTS) and Touring Car A (TC-A) Manufacturer Titles
- Mark Wilkins, pilot of No. 38 B.R.A.K.E.S. Optima turbo, finishes third in Grand Touring Sport (GTS) Driver Championship for second consecutive year
- Jason Wolfe, driver of the No. 36 Richard Wolfe Trucking Kia Forte Koup, wins Touring Car A (TC-A) Driver Championship and Rookie of the Year honors
Irvine, Calif., September 15, 2014 – Kia Motors claimed the 2014 Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) Grand Touring Sport (GTS) and Touring Car A (TC-A) Manufacturer Championships at the series’ season finale this past weekend at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. On the strength of five pole positions, five race wins and 13 podium finishes during the 16-race PWC season, Kia Racing and partner Kinetic Motorsports bested teams from Ford, Chevrolet, Porsche, Aston Martin and Nissan making Kia the first Korean brand to earn the coveted title of PWC Champion.
“We congratulate the Kia Racing team and our partner Kinetic Motorsports on a fantastic season in which their hard work and dedication, along with the power, performance and reliability of our turbocharged Optimas, proved a winning combination amongst some truly world-class competition,” said Michael Sprague, executive vice president of sales and marketing, Kia Motors America. “Everyone affiliated with the Kia brand, including our customers, our dealers, our team members at Kia Motors America and at KMMG, the U.S. plant where the Optima is built, should feel proud of this achievement.”
In addition to their fast qualifying performances and victorious race results, Kia Racing drivers Mark Wilkins and Nic Jönsson combined to lead more on-track miles than any other manufacturer in the series this year. Wilkins, pilot of the No. 38 B.R.A.K.E.S. Optima turbo, finished the season third in the Driver Championship, scoring two wins and six podiums. Jönsson, in the No. 36 DonorsChoose.org Optima turbo, finished the season seventh in the Driver Championship with seven podiums, including three wins.
Adding to the championship-winning weekend was rookie Jason Wolfe, pilot of the No. 36 Richard Wolfe Trucking Kia Forte Koup, who scored four wins and 10 podium finishes in 2014. Wolfe’s double-podium result at the Miller doubleheader – including victory in the final round – secured him the PWC Driver Championship in the Touring Car A (TC-A) class as well as Rookie of the Year honors. Fielded by Kinetic Motorsports, the privateer effort also earned Kia a second PWC Manufacturer Championship. Kia and rival Honda Performance Development finished the year tied in points, but Kia took the title on the strength of its six wins to Honda’s five. Along the way, Kinetic Motorsports was recognized for their excellence, professionalism and sportsmanship when their fellow TC-A competitors voted them “Crew of the Year.”
PWC GTS rounds 15 and 16 at Miller Motorsports Park will be televised on the NBC Sports Network Sunday, September 28, at 2:30 p.m. ET. Highlights are available online at www.world-challengetv.com, and race fans can keep up-to-date with the team via the Kia Racing Facebook page at www.facebook.com/kiaracing and by following along on Twitter: @KiaRacing.

North Texas will have the Car of the Future
It is no secret that technology continues to progress. Our children navigate the world through new and innovative electronics. Glasses are allowing us to view and communicate with each other, watches tell us more than the time of day, and cars are no different.
This year’s concept cars share the not-so-distant future new ideas, designs, technologies, and corporate intentions.
This year’s concept cars share the not-so-distant future new ideas, designs, technologies, and corporate intentions.
Most vehicles are projected to be powered by some form of gas-electric system. By the year 2025 the corporate fuel-economy (CAFÉ) has set the standards for all vehicles to meet 54.5 mpg and at today’s gas prices reaching $4 a gallon, which is not a bad idea. Thanks to technological, scientific and manufacturing advancements materials like carbon fiber, aluminum space frames and other super-lightweight alloy bits which are found in high-end luxury sport sedans are finding their way into more economical vehicles geared toward the everyday driver. Heads-up displays which means the system overlays information directly on objects seen through your windshield is nothing new. However, these displays are becoming fully interactive, customizable, and controllable with nothing but hand signals. Mirrors are being replaced by cameras providing safety for the automotive consumer, and with all of these advancements the Kia Ray concept, a plug-in hybrid sedan concept built on the Forte platform and shown in Chicago, is quoted at 202 mpg.
In 2007 KIA Motors installed a design center equipped with design and modeling studios including the KIA Design Center America in Irvine, California. Through its efforts, KIA Motors has introduced a number of striking concept cars at various international motor shows and the results of the company’s efforts are beginning to show on the streets. The company has gone from a maker of affordable cars that had little to set them apart from vehicles to a company that produces cars that have been highly acclaimed pieces of art.
With an unprecedented 17 consecutive years of market share growth, Kia Motors is the fastest growing automotive brand in America. Thanks to advances in product quality, design and innovative marketing, Kia is also one of the fastest-growing car companies in the world.
KIA is already well known for its Optima, Sorento, Soul, Sportage, Forte, Rio, Sedona, and the most talked about mid-size sedan on the market, the Cadenza.
Now the K900 is about to hit showroom floors near you. The KIA K900 packs exactly what you expect – tons of luxurious amenities, and an optional VIP seating package with reclining, heated and cooled outboard rear seats. Standard leather surfaces are found throughout the cabin, and soft Nappa leather is available in black or white with contrasting stitching. On the technology front, V8 VIP models offer a 12.3-inch full-color TFT display in the instrument panel, with different themes depending on which drive mode is selected. In the center console, standard navigation and UVO telematics are viewed through a 9.2-inch HD screen that's controlled by a rotary knob and surrounding buttons. Of course, there's a mountain of active safety features, including front and rear park assist, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot detection, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and more. There's even an around view monitor.
The K900 is a handsome thing, looking sort of like a puffed-up version of the smaller Forte or Cadenza sedans. Up front, V8 models use adaptive LED headlamps (with a total of 16 bulbs), and more LED lighting can be found out back. Attractive 19-inch wheels are found at all four corners, wrapped in 245/45-series rubber up front and 275/40-series tires at the rear.

All New Kia Rio
Most test drivers agree the 2014 Kia Rio has plenty of power. They say the ride is soft enough to not be jarring over rough roads, yet firm enough to feel composed going through turns. The steering is well-controlled in low-speed parking lot situations and on the highway. It has no problems with highway merging or passing, and the optional automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The four-cylinder engine is capable of getting a 29/37 mpg city/highway EPA fuel economy rating, which is good for the class. This is a must in today’s fluctuating gas prices.
The roomy cabin also impressed reviewers. It offers plenty of leg space in the front and back seats, with plenty of comfort for day-long trips. The material is great, and like most Kia vehicles, the Rio comes with a ton of standard equipment, including Bluetooth and a USB port for hooking up your iPod or smartphone to the car’s stereo. There is also plenty of trunk space. Since its redesign last year, the Rio has become one of the best subcompact cars on the market today.
For the everyday driver, the Kia Rio is the perfect car due to the engine power, comfortable ride and extreme amount of cargo space.

Ponder Elementary School Reveals a Big Surprise to Students
In the weeks leading up to October 1st if you were to visit Ponder Elementary School in Ponder, Texas you would see the walls decorated with signs saying things like, “It’s Coming,” “What’s coming?” and “It’s a big surprise!” And like the children of Ponder elementary, you’d be left to “Ponder” what the big surprise was.
Teasing the surprise, students were shown videos of hamsters running down the school hallway and leaning back in chairs reading books. And then finally, on Tuesday, the big reveal…
Teasing the surprise, students were shown videos of hamsters running down the school hallway and leaning back in chairs reading books. And then finally, on Tuesday, the big reveal…
Some furry friends visited the students at the school in a KIA Soul courtesy of Huffines KIA Denton, to deliver books and announce the school’s participation in the “One School, One Book” program. The KIA Soul “Hamstars” were happy to deliver the book, because it features a main protagonist that they can really identify with, Humphrey the Hamster.
Each family at Ponder Elementary School received one copy of the children’s book, “The World According to Humphrey.” The goal of the One School, One Book program is to have the entire school, 585 students, reading the same chapter of the same book every day. During class each day, discussions will be held based on the previous day’s chapter of the book featuring Humphrey the Hamster.
In addition to the students reading, office workers, teachers, families, school staff, and local businesses. Reading teachers at the school said the program gives the community something in common to discuss.
“Our school is more of a community and this is a way that we can do something together. We can read the same book,” said Cheramie Dankesreiter, a fourth-grade reading teacher. “It doesn’t matter if you’re a bus driver or a cafeteria worker, or a teacher or someone in the office.”
Definitely a fun day at Ponder Elementary and a great program that Huffines KIA Denton is thrilled to be a part of.

The KIA Cross GT Concept
Big in Stature and Power
Earlier this year Kia built upon the brand-expanding precedent set by the four-door Kia GT that debuted in Frankfurt 2011, by unveiling the Kia Cross GT concept. The Cross GT clearly sends the message that Kia is making the move into the large, premium-crossover market. The design comes from the same designers that produced the 2014 Kia Forte sedan and the Track’ster and Soul’ster concepts.
To give you a little perspective, the Cross GT is 8.4 inches longer and 4.9 inches wider than the current Sorento, yet stand 1.6 inches shorter and the wheelbase is much longer. The concept engine features a 3.8-liter V-6 and an eight-speed automatic transmission working in conjunction with Kia’s hybrid system, quotes the engine at 400 horsepower and an all-electric range of 20 miles.
Designed as a four passenger vehicle, the Cross GT employs rear-hinged suicide doors for easy access to the rear bucket seats. Climate controls, telematics, and entertainment functions are accessed via a touch screen and central mouse control. Rear passengers can even access the internet and infotainment options through flat-panel screens mounted to the backs of the front-seat headrests.
While the Cross GT is only a concept it is not outside the realm of possibility this amazing vehicle could one day be seen bursting onto the scene. Michael Sprague, Kia’s executive vice president of marketing and communications said, “Our customers are looking to the Kia brand to offer relevant vehicles in the premium segments that take value to new levels of sophistication. The Cross GT is the next logical step in that evolution. And while only a concept today, it signals one possible design direction we may explore for the future.”
What do you think? Would you like to see the Cross GT made into reality and find its way to your drive-way someday soon? Let us know in the comments and be sure to visit Huffines Kia Denton at 5150 South Interstate 35E in Denton, TX 76210 to see the amazing out-of-this-world designs Kia has already made into reality.

Kia’s New Sedan Beats Competition in Consumer Reports Ratings
The Kia Cadenza is the newest addition to Kia’s ever growing and improving line of vehicles. The Korean automaker has been shaking things up in the automotive scene and their new Cadenza is already making a lot of noise in the large sedan segment.
Consumer Reports recently published a list ranking 12 large sedans, for the first time since 2007. In 2007, the Toyota Avalon was at the top of the list, but this year fell behind the Cadenza. The fact that the Avalon has been supplanted by Kia reflects heavily the upheaval in the global auto industry over the past six years.
“The Cadenza banishes any lingering thoughts that Kia is a manufacturer of cheap, unrefined cars,” said Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports.
“Kia has really risen up in our testing,” stated the magazine’s automotive editor, Rik Paul.
Consumer Reports is one of the most trusted and respected publications available today. They have been providing reviews and comparisons of consumer products and services since 1936, but it’s not just Consumer Reports lavishing praise upon Kia lately.
MotorTrend recently published two “Big Tests,” one for compact sedans, and one for full-size sedans; and Kia reigned King in both. Bottom line is critics, experts, and enthusiasts are raving about Kia’s new commitment to quality, safety, and affordability.

Car Buying Tips for College Students
For college students buying a car can be a very stressful experience. Often times it is your first time purchasing a vehicle, you’re juggling a full load of classes and a job. Not to mention you may be looking at your student loan debt and are afraid of adding a car loan on top of it. Here are a few tips from the professionals at Huffines Kia Denton to help you if you’re thinking about buying a car.
First, Don’t Rush It
Purchasing a vehicle is a big thing in your life and we encourage you to do all of your homework. Make a budget and figure out exactly what you can afford and are willing to spend each month. Make a list of the features you absolutely can’t live without. If a moonroof is necessary, put it on your list of required features. You can bring your list to our team of consultants and we will gladly determine what cars have the features you want within the price range you need. Never trust someone who is trying to sell you a specific car and is encouraging you to move at a pace faster than you’re comfortable with. We believe it is more important to spend more time helping you get the vehicle that is perfect for you.
Second, Determine How Long You’ll Keep Your Car
Some people like to keep their vehicles until the wheels fall off while, others prefer trading up every few years into the newer models. You need to decide what type of car buyer you will be. Do you want to keep your vehicle for 10+ years? Perhaps you should purchase a new car to get the most longevity out of it. We might mention that all new Kia’s have a 10 year warranty, so people who are interested in keeping their vehicles forever can do so with peace of mind. Or maybe you are the person that likes to trade up to a newer model every few years? In that case we would recommend into seeing if leasing is right for you. You receive a lower monthly payment and when it’s time to trade up, you don’t have to worry about being upside down in a vehicle.
Third, Remember You’re In College
As a college student, you currently have more friends that you regularly go out with than at any other point in a person’s life. As such, getting a two-seater car may not be the best for you social butterflies. One thing young single people often overlook is how comfortable your friends will be in the passenger seats. Don’t forget to make sure your new vehicle is large enough to get you and your peers from one side of Denton to another.
