James Bond’s Poor Taste in Vehicles

James Bond aka 007, has been around for a long time.  He was created in 1953 by writer Ian Fleming and has graced the pages of novels and the silver screen ever since.  Through the years Bond has changed quite a bit.  He’s been portrayed in film by six different actors and has been steadily modernized with each new actor.  One thing that hasn’t become more modern however is his taste in vehicles, resulting in the question we at Huffines KIA Denton hear more than anything, “Why doesn’t James Bond drive a Kia Optima?
Well fear not, today we are going to answer that question that’s bugging everyone.  Now, the Optima may seem like the obvious choice for someone as awesome as Bond, but really you have to think about it from a different angle.

The definition of a spy is someone who secretly collects and reports information on the activities, movements, and plans of an enemy or competitor.  Basically James Bond has to be incognito and sneaky, he doesn’t want his enemy to know how awesome he really is, and therefore he must drive cars that would make one believe a harmless rich old man is pulling into the driveway.
And on the flip side, if he were to arrive in the 2014 KIA Optima, Goldfinger would know he was in a heap of trouble.  There’s nothing incognito about the Optima, its sleek, bold exterior screams the term “awesome.”

But that’s not the only reason Bond doesn’t roll this way, the Optima leads the mid-size sedan segment with a 2.0L gasoline direct injection turbo engine that delivers a segment-leading 274 horsepower engine while still getting the fuel economy of a four-cylinder engine.  So when it’s time to chase Silva through the streets of London it would be too easy to catch him and make for a pretty dull movie.

Inside, the wealth of features such as the available UVO eServices infotainment system that allows you to stream music from a compatible smartphone, initiate a 911 call or even schedule service appointments, all using voice commands or the touch screen would put MI6’s lead engineer “Q” out of a job.
Cheer up Mr. Bond, you still have a pretty slick Tuxedo.
Bottom line, the 2014 KIA Optima is just too awesome for everyone’s favorite double agent.  If you want to get a closer look at this stunning vehicle, visit Huffines KIA Denton at 5150 S Interstate 35E in Denton, Texas or give us a call at 940-321-2504 today!
